LOL But I've been somewhat busy. We are expecting baby #2 in September. I had some time in the first trimester where I didn't want to do anything, so business really slowed down. I am feeling much better now, so bring it on! :) I have been doing primarily customs for friends and a few Hyena Cart sales here and there. I would really like to do some regular bi-weekly stocking at Hyena Cart and etsy in the next month or so.

And we are moving again. So that will require a week or two of a break in late May. I am cleaning and decluttering now, so hopefully packing won't be too bad. It's all of the stuff in the garage still in boxes that worries me! Although at least that stuff is already boxed up.

A few things I will be stocking will be of course my cloth bags, some small book bags, kid's aprons, and some sweet baby blankets and quilts. A recycled wool quilt in the fall would be nice. We'll see how long my babymoon is. :) I will probably take a month off when the baby comes, and ease back into sewing.

So, there is the long awaited update. Please don't hesitate to comment or email me if you have any questions at all. I'm usually up for customs, it never hurts to ask. Thanks for reading!

I need some blog help!

I have a header that was designed for my business blog. But since I am not hosting through blogger, I can't easily change up my design over there. Can someone please help me with the design of my business blog? It is basically the same header as my Hyena cart store, maybe a little smaller. I don't want something expensive, just something that flows with my logo. Please, someone???? My dream is to have my own shop in Portland. I would like for is to have something to do with fabric. It could be a cute fabric shop, where I also sell my items. It could be a shop where I sell my items and other locally made items. (This would be so great!) I don't need to be rich, but I'd like to bring in enough money to pay for excellent schooling for Eleanor, to have some extra play money, and to save.

I love sewing and making things for people. But I think I am going to focus on local business for awhile. Selling on Hyena Cart is great, but I don't get to see those people. One of the reasons I love making things for people is because I get to see them using or wearing what I made them. And I get to see how much they love it. I'm also not wanting to contribute to the gas consumption and energy used to ship my cloth bags all over the world.

I'm going to make some new goals for eleanor bean. I'd like to have some local shops sell my items. I'm also going to try very hard to get into Saturday Market once I get to Portland. And I can sell at local craft shows and such. I will still keep this blog, since I own the web address and it will be on business cards. Plus I think it is good to have some web presence. I was thinking of trying to the Holiday Market here, but I need to call and find out the requirements to get in.

So for now, I need to finish up all of my projects and trades on the table. Then I can sew some samples and shop them around Eugene and Portland. I'd also like to try Salem and maybe Bend. It feels good to have a plan, even if that plan changes from time to time.

If you are ever in need of something eleanor bean though, please drop me an email and let me know. I won't turn away a customer in need. ;)

Danielle

giggle giggle

Well, maybe I should update here more, you think? I am getting ready to do my big Sparrows stocking next week. I am very excited for it. I have 8 ounces of beautiful yarn hand-dyed by Selah to match the Joel Dewberry fabric I am making a dress out of. I decided to go scrap happy and I'm also making a kid's apron, crayon roll, headband, drawstring snack bag......and possibly a sweet little kimono coat. I definitely try to do too much! Pics to come...

Upcoming stockings:
HR Mermaids
Vintage florals
Skulls

My how time flies...

I'm sorry that I've been neglecting the eleanor bean blog. But I've been busy! I stocked a few custom slots for the reusable bags and they sold out. So, I've been working on those. Let's see what is on the sewing table for eleanor bean:

Custom bags (2) for Shadow

Custom bag for Virginia

Custom bags (4) for Breana

Trade with Amy of Funky Wonder Photography (2 mama skirts, 2 daughter skirts, 4 bags, 2 kid's aprons, and many wipes)

Collaboration with Selah for Hyena Cart shop (gorgeous yard hand-dyed to match Joel Dewberry Sparrows dress I am making)

I am hoping to have all of this done by mid-July as I am going to the Oregon Country Fair! I want to be able to let out my inner hippie with no worries. :)

I will be stocking more custom slots in mid-July, and will be stocking ready-made items at etsy and Hyena Cart at the end of July. Now I am on to making week 2's stocking items. I am waiting on a little sunlight to take pics of the aprons. Although in Oregon, who knows when there will be sunlight.

Starting in June, I will be stocking my creations at my very own Hyena cart and at etsy. I am excited and a bit nervous, because my last business venture was selling other people's creations. But now everything I sell is made with my own hands. And I hope that the littles in your life enjoy them as much as the littles in my life do.

Danielle
